Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.
Victory also signifies he has secured 21 titles at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His defensive approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to create a third set.
The opponent defended four initial chances in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
